Over the centuries Alhaurín has seen a variety of distinct cultures but the muslim heritage is predominant. Architecturally the town has a great deal to offer. The Covered Arch (Arco del Cobertizo) belonging to the town wall and the Tower of Jubrique (Torre de Jubrique) a defensive fortification both served as refuge for the local population and a defensive boundary. Alongside the defensive remains the religius heritage can be found with the Nuestra Señora de la Encarnación Church a prime example of XVII architecture, where the image of the Virgin of Grace, the patron can be found. The Hermitage of San Sebastián today houses the Brotherhood of our Lord Jesus of Nazareth known as “Los Moraos”. In the chapel of Santa Vera Cruz the Royal venerable Brotherhood of Santo Cristo de la Vera Cruz, Maria Santisima de la Soledad and the Holy Burial “Los Verdes” can be contemplated.

Last but not least the Molino de la Paca with more than 120 years olive oil production, can be visited not only as a museum piece but as a fully functionally traditional press. All modern security measures have been taken into consideration and visitors can taste the single pressed olive oil and buy some to take home along with other local delicacies.
